A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a gold wheel on a brick red disc with two gold keys whose conjoined bows form the wheel hub, shafts pilewise, wards outward supporting a red scroll inscribed SUSTAIN in gold letters and enclosing a red fire bomb, the area between the wheel and scroll being buff.
Scarlet and buff are the colors traditionally associated with Support. The bomb, wheel, and keys allude to Ordnance, Transportation, and Quartermaster Corps and reflect the three key elements in sustaining a force for combat.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 29 August 1983.
